The Rishikesh trip!!

Now this trip re-defined adventure...at least for me. This trip had everything in it from Rafting in the perilous water of the Ganges to jaali hiking to tiger hunting (lol!) to living in primitive era to gorging on good food. Not to forget the journey we made in almost every mode of conveyance. Be it a Cab, train, open jeep, refugees waali jeep, Rafts, Truck, Bus and an auto.
I remember Mongu coming to my room and telling me," yaar rishkikesh me me 10-12 rafts to palat hi jaatein hai...jaan bhi chali jaaati hai :O"...From this dialogue on we named the trip as " The beginning of the End"...Then we were squashed into a single cab where we met an angel named sherry( our cabie)... And then began torture from Patiala to Ambala. The journey was of 90 minutes Sherry shared 3 jokes with us...3 THAT's IT!!!...Each joke was 20-30 minute long and had a pathetic ending!! There was no Stop button once he had started! Anmol almost went loony!! But yeah it was fun seeing sherry make a fool of himself and humne uski le li :P
Then came the journey to Rishikesh by a train...Like always we had general tickets(Budget problem!) and we entered the sleeper class..Thankfully the TT was reasonable and let us off for a meagre 100 rs. :D
And then we reached that awesome camp with tents and a lantern and had an awesome rafting experience! At one time all of us had jumped into the river and were floating together singing and screaming. The water did something to balma's hair which made him look like a lecherous villian of the 90's!! After coming back to the camp we did a bit of water jumping and late into the night we played a series of games... A game Zap and zoom taught to us by Mauntriii( remember chooro ka JAM!!) Then it was time for dumb charades in the lantern's light...I am still unable to comprehend how dhauro guessed shawshank redemption!! Next day we had an early morning hike...which turned out to be a damp squib since most of us were unable to wake up at the time allotted to us by our camp guide (No surprises here!).The it was kayaking time and as expected each one of us made sure our kayaks overturned!! Then when it was time for us to leave we were unable to find any bus and had to take a TRUCK! If you've never been in a truck never get into one! That's a wise thing we learnt that day! And we were off to Jim Corbett! Details about the JC trip later! But yeah Kaku,Muju and Tayal were terribly missed :(
